Synopsis
Ari, a sophisticated and urbane Gay man, moves into a care home and encounters Beau, the beautiful, heterosexual, illiterate former thief who is now his Carer. Their unlikely meeting changes the future for both of them.
The Carer explores what happens when an elderly man feels pressured to return to the closet in his dying days. Referencing classic gay texts such as Jean Genet and Mapplethorpe, the film is about finding a way to survive and even thrive, when your very identity is under threat.
